Business Student Tips

Business resumes should be only one page in length.



Accounting majors should include their GPA on a resume.  Certain 
employers will not look at accounting resumes without GPAs.



Certain employers are picky about how an accounting objective is stated.

If you specify that you are interested in public accounting or private 
accounting, make sure this objective matches up with the type of 
organization you are applying to.



We do have general business and accounting sample resumes in the 
Academic Advising and Career Services office.

Career Peers, who can assist you with resume critiques and mock 
interviews, are available in the Curris Business Building main lobby on:

Monday 10-noon
Tuesday 11-1
Wednesday Noon-2
Thursday Noon-2

Laura Wilson, our Cooperative Education Coordinator, is the person to 
see concerning business co-ops or internships.

Attend our fairs!  Academic Advising and Career Services organize many 

fairs, such as the Career Fair (in September) and the Job and Internship
Fair (in March).  Many employers looking for business majors attend
these fairs.
