The Bill

When finished dining, the waiter/waitress will bring out the bill. It will usually be on a dish, which is where you will lay your money for the waiter/waitress to take. The waiter/waitress will return with a variety of change for you, this is a cue for you to leave a tip.

If the bill does not come on a dish, you will be expected to pay the bill on your way out. Look the bill over carefully to make sure you have not been overcharged, and discuss issues with the waiter.

A tip is part of the salary of the waiter/waitress, if you are unhappy with the service you have received, you should inform him/her. If it happens again in the future, it would be acceptable to leave a small tip. It is not fair to leave a small tip and not tell the waiter/waitress what the problem is, he/she deserves to be told.
