Our primary focus is working with K-12 teachers in assisting them in
integrating economic concepts and activities into their curriculum.
Specifically,
the Center offers:
- Teacher
Training Programs that are designed to increase teachers'
knowledge of basic economic concepts as well as improve their ability
to teach that knowledge. Both credit and non-credit opportunities
are offered by the CEE.
- Consulting
Services to Iowa school districts, education agencies, and
community groups about the development of curriculum, course content,
resource materials, and teaching strategies.
- Curriculum
Lending Library for Iowa educators to assist them in developing appropriate
educational units in economics.
- Student
Enrichment Programs for Iowa students. Presently these include
the Iowa Stock Market Game™Program and
the Economics Challenge Competition.
- Advocate
for Economic and Personal Financial Literacy Education.
The Center works with various constituent groups to raise awareness
and promote the importance of economic and financial literacy in
