Helen Homet of Whittier, California in a letter to the Federal Communications Commission (reprinted in Paul Farhi, "War of the Words," The Washington Post, May 21, 1995, p. W12):
"I am a 'normal' citizen trying to raise three children in a not-so-pleasant culture. I teach my children the fundamentals of respecting one's self, others, property, government, etc. What more do we need say to take responsibility for the future generation of America? Start taking responsibility for the filth that is permitted to pollute the nation, AND PUT A STOP TO IT!"
