F. Russell Glasener Scholarship

The F. Russell Glasener scholarship originated in 1987 from the estate of F. Russell Glasener. He graduated from UNI (then known as Iowa State Teachers College) in 1911 with a degree in Political Economy and later earned a Master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1934.

After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Glasener taught at Eastern Illinois University (then known as Normal University) from 1935-1965. An earnest scholar, he wrote several books including A Century of Methodism 1865-1965: First Church, Normal, IL and Who are on relief?: A study of relief clients of Bloomington, Illinois. An avid reader, he remained scholarly active until his death in 1987.

The scholarship is awarded annually to deserving students majoring in economics.

Full-time Economics majors who will be seniors in the fall semester are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
