Entrepreneur Empowerment
Starting a new business takes planning and a good sense of direction, but you don't have to travel that difficult path alone. Many entrepreneurial programs are available through UNI's Business and Community Services division (BCS). As an entrepreneur, you can receive direction and resources to help realize your business goals.
MyEntreNet is a rural business accelerator program which creates community-based support networks for entrepreneurship, provides startup and existing companies with advanced technical assistance and training, and connects entrepreneurs and resources in rural regions nationwide through technology.
The UNI Regional Business Center provides office space for start-up companies in the Cedar Valley area.
Students can initiate and develop their businesses by using the incubator space provided by the UNI Student Business Incubator program. This program is managed by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.
UNI's Institute for Decision Making helps communities enhance entrepreneurship by integrating new business visions into overall economic and community development efforts. IDM offers educational presentations and technical assistance, in coordination with MyEntreNet, to educate community leaders and local economic development boards about the importance of entrepreneurial growth to their local economies and their economic development programs.
