Management Education
Today's global economy demands that effective business leaders must be life-long learners. In this dynamic environment what was new, is quickly old; what worked yesterday, doesn't work today. UNIBusiness provides the services and opportunities to help keep Iowa's workforce trained, its managers educated, and its leadership effective.
Enhance your managerial skills and open new doors for your employees by using the services provided by the Executive Development Center. Training development consultants work with you to pinpoint improvement areas for your company. The Center also offers managers and executives a Business and Management Certificate and a Leadership Development Certificate.
Helping managers gain effective problem solving and managerial skills is an important goal of the MBA program at UNI.
Become fluent in the language of business by pursuing a Master of Accounting (MAcc) degree from UNI.
Real estate and finance majors can meet the challenge of becoming certified as a financial analyst by taking non-credit courses that prepare them for the Chartered Financial Analyst® Exam. The combination of participating in the non-credit courses and passing the exam earns students a Financial Analysis Certificate. Most importantly, the program works. UNI students taking the level I CFA® exam pass at a rate double the international average.
The UNI Department of Accounting prepares accounting majors and graduate students for the CPA exam by providing non-credit elective review courses. UNI's accounting majors have a long history of successful performance on the CPA exam thanks to the rigor of the accounting curriculum and the focused study that the review courses require. These courses are open to current accounting professionals who seek to pass the CPA exam. Contact the Department of Accounting (273-2394) for more information.
The Lawrence Jepson International Economics Symposium is an annual event sponsored by the Economics Department and UNIBusiness with funds from the Jepson Memorial Endowment. The topic of the symposium is related to international economics or international relations. Speakers are economists whose research, consulting, and experience allow them to provide an insightful view of trade and economics in today's global economy. For more information, please contact the UNI Department of Economics, (319) 273-2412.
