Student Business Plan Competition
The UNI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is accepting Intent to Compete forms for its annual $5,000 student business plan competition. The Intent to Compete is due to BCS 128 by 5 p.m. on Feb. 29. The business plan must be based on an original business idea the student has started or would like to start. Apply Now For Summer Opportunity With Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute
The UNI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is now accepting applications and essays for the Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute. Eight UNI students are selected to attend from August 5-10.
Join students from Iowa, ISU, Buena Vista, and ILCC to run a small business for six quarters in a simulation, tour a company, hear great speakers, network, do a community service project, pitch to investors, and have fun in the sun. This program is worth three hours of UNI academic credit. Tuition, room, and board will be covered by the JPEC.
Interviews will be conducted based on the essays to select the eight students who will attend. Open to juniors and seniors, must be returning to UNI in the fall semester. For application, visit www.jpec.org/oko.htm, e-mail jpec@uni.edu, or call 273-JPEC (5732). Applications due March 9.
First Wednesday Student Lunch
Network with UNIBusiness students from the U.S. and abroad each month during the First Wednesday Student Lunch. The first Wednesday of each month in CBB 1&3, students can enjoy a free, light lunch and conversation between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Students may come based on their class schedule any time during that period. Individuals that attend three lunches per semester (at least 45 minutes per date) will receive a certificate of participation at semester's end.
