International Club of Business Students (ICBS)
In this student organization, domestic and international students come together to learn about international business operations and national cultures. This organization stays busy! For the past few years, ICSB has organized the UNIBusiness Global Associates activities that engage students in learning about other countries and various cultures. These events cover a wide range of countries usually in association with the home countries of current members. Food, music, games, and fun are part of the learning experience.
The group also assists in hosting Culture and Intensive English Program (CIEP) students on the farm owned by the ICBS advisor. The visiting students canoe, drive antique tractors, and cookout in a mature woods setting.
To learn more about how international business is conducted, each semester the group takes a field trip to one of five cities, Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Kansas City, or Minneapolis. There they visit companies and organizations active in international trade and operations. Often an evening social is sponsored by UNI alums thus providing a networking opportunity for club members.
To support their activities and promote an international view of UNI, the club markets multi-language international clothing and other items with an international flavor.
