Annual Scholarship Competition

Students planning a semester or longer abroad should apply for the International Professional Development Scholarship.

This competitive scholarship program provides $1,000 and $500 for overseas studies to the first- and second-place awardees, respectively. These awards are in addition to any other scholarships that may apply.

Applications for these scholarships are due Oct. 1 of each year. Winners can direct the scholarship funds to a spring or fall semester abroad program the following year.

To apply, applicants must:

• submit an Iowa Export Essay, which requires analysis of the market potential of an Iowa product in another country. The applicant chooses both the product and the target country. The written analysis should not exceed five double-spaced pages.
• be a fully admitted business student
• have a 2.75 major GPA (major GPA appears on the degree audit)
• complete the UNIBusiness International Opportunities Scholarship Application
• submit all information as required by the application form

Applicants must submit by October 1 the completed application and accompanying materials to Chris Schrage, UNIBusiness International Programs Coordinator, CBB 5.
