Gifts Make It Possible

Generous benefactors knock down barriers and open doors for UNIBusiness students by establishing scholarships that support students' interests and pursuits, including international education. Students who wish to apply for these scholarships must complete the UNIBusiness International Opportunities Scholarship Application. Read about our international scholarships and the people who made them possible.

Accordion Arrow    Bill Kimball Fund for International Development

  • Supports opportunities for gaining an international experience, including a six- to 12-month program in the Dalian Free Trade Zone in Dalian, China, and an international business seminar for graduate students offered by the Institut Supérieur du Commerce in Paris.
  • All business majors are eligible, with priority given to participants in international internships, study abroad activities in China and graduate studies in Europe.
    • Bill Kimball is the retired president of Medicap Pharmacies Inc., and a past member of the UNIBusiness Executive Advisory Board. His contributions help ensure UNIBusiness programs will thrive well into the future. Bill and his wife, Charlotte, live in Johnston, Iowa. Their son and daughter both attended UNI.

      Bill Kimball also established the Bill Kimball Endowment for International Relations, which promotes interaction among domestic and international students, making all students more productive members of the global community.

Accordion Arrow    Michael and Jacqueline Mrosko Endowed UNIBusiness International Travel Scholarship

  • Supports UNIBusiness students who are participating in international study or internships abroad in order to enhance their total business education.
  • Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above and an outstanding record of extracurricular achievement that emphasizes honor, service and/or campus ministry activities.
    • Mike (Accounting '92) and Jacqueline (Education '93) Mrosko have a strong appreciation for the career advantages they realized as a result of undergraduate scholarships, including an opportunity that allowed Mike to study in London. To express their appreciation, the couple established the Michael and Jacqueline Mrosko Endowed UNIBusiness International Travel Scholarship to provide exceptional opportunities for UNIBusiness students.

      The Mroskos have also established a UNIBusiness accounting scholarship and a scholarship in the UNI College of Education. Mike, Jacqueline and their two children live in Chanhassen, Minn.

Accordion Arrow    Lawrence Jepson International Business and Economics Student Study Abroad Grants

  • Support business and economics students who want an international educational experience that prepares them for a complex and ever-changing world and adds to their appreciation of diverse cultural backgrounds and global interdependence.
  • Students must be a fully admitted business major or an approved economics major, and have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Lawrence Jepson was a native of Denmark who immigrated to Iowa in the early 1900s. He was a blacksmith's apprentice prior to his undergraduate experience at UNI. His remarkable life and career led him to Wall Street, where, in the 1970s, he established himself as a businessman who foresaw the importance of global relationships.

      Generations of students have benefitted from the endowed Lawrence M. Jepson Memorial Fund, established upon his passing in 1982, to support student scholarships and other UNIBusiness activities in international economics.

Accordion Arrow    UNIBusiness Points Plus

Many alumni and friends have increased their frequent flier power by joining the UNIBusiness Points Plus program, which supports student travel to study abroad and professional development activities on American, Delta and United airlines. These individuals have registered the UNIBusiness student travel account number with the airline in addition to their own rewards program ID. It doesn't cost a thing, but it makes a lasting impact!
