Education is not cheap. It is an investment of both time and money. While research shows that education does pay off, the time balancing work with school is still difficult. The UNI Financial Aid Office offers comprehensive counseling on how to pay for your education. Consider how the following opportunities for UNI business students might help you as well.
Earn money and gain meaningful work experience without leaving campus. Studies show that students who work on campus 10-20 hours per week have higher GPAs than students who work off campus for the same number of hours. Employment opportunities for business students within the college as well as the UNI campus community offer a variety of work experiences that will fit your interests. Talk to your advisor, go to your department office or go to the UNI Student Employment Office in 255 Gilchrist Hall.
If you have received a Work Study award, positions are available in the business college helping you stay close to where your classes are offered and giving you more flexibility for your work schedule. Discover your options by talking to Velda Timmerman in CBB 321. Opportunities outside of the College are available at the UNI Student Employment Office in 255 Gilchrist Hall.
Reduce your college expenses and loans by applying for the numerous scholarships specifically for business students. Incoming freshmen, undergraduate and graduate students, are all eligible. For undergraduates, the University's UNIversity Scholarship Application (USA) must be completed to be considered for all scholarships available through the University and the business college. High school seniors seeking UNIBusiness Freshmen Scholar Awards are encouraged to apply during the fall of their senior year. Scholarships are also available specifically to support study abroad activities. Students are required to complete the UNIBusiness International Opportunities Scholarship Application form.
