Responsibilities

Dr. Connerley is in charge of evaluation and administrative decisions in the Management Department. These responsibilities include evaluating faculty on many different criteria, not just limited to teaching, but also involving research and service to UNI and the profession. Using these criteria, it is Dr. Connerley’s job to oversee the process of hiring faculty, instructors and adjunct instructors. She also plays a critical role in the tenure and promotion process for Management faculty along with annual performance evaluation and salary recommendations for Management faculty. Her responsibilities also include overseeing the curricular process in the Management Department, including managing course offerings, teaching assignments and course enrollment. As Head of Management, she must provide leadership and service to the Management Department and to UNIBusiness.

Professional Accomplishments

Professor Connerley has published articles in many respected journals including Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Journal of Management, Human Relations, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and Journal of Management Education in addition to others. Professor Connerley won the Outstanding Paper Award for Emerald Literati Network for her paper on 'Gender differences in leadership competencies, expatriate readiness, and performance. During her time teaching at Virginia Tech she won the Pamplin College of Business Diversity Excellence award and the Teaching Excellence award. Professor Connerley taught at the University of Iowa and Virginia Tech before coming to UNI.

International Experience

Dr. Connerley has taught the MBA class, Strategic Management of Human Resources in Hong Kong and China. She has also travelled to Russia, Poland and South Africa with student groups.
