UNIBusiness has earned a well-deserved reputation for producing top talents in diverse areas of business. Our community is a vibrant and innovative hub of academic excellence and our alumni have distinguished themselves in various areas of business and public service.
Our truest measure of achievement as an institution is the success of our graduates. Many students who walked the halls of Curris and obtained a degree have continued on to make significant contributions and achieve high recognition in a variety of fields, and Collin Nelson (Finance and Real Estate `14) is no exception.

Nelson was recently recognized and honored as the "Emerging Citizen Of The Year" at a reception organized by West Des Moines Chamber for his dedication to the community. He is an active member of the West Des Moines Accelerate Advisory Committee, Downtown Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, Emerging Leaders Collaborative, and the Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association. His philanthropic affiliations include the Iowa Corporate Games and Multiple Sclerosis Society.

According to Nelson, success in business must include two key components, "First, you must not only follow through on your word, but exceed expectations. Second, success is created by not only generating new business, but by maintaining lasting relationships. I come to work every day with my clients‘ best interest in mind and try to create the best possible experience for all parties involved in every transaction."

Nelson is currently employed at NAI Optimum Commercial Real Estate Services in West Des Moines, Iowa.
