2018 John Deere Supply Chain Management Forum

The UNIBusiness-John Deere Supply Chain Forum is an industry-academic partnership, designed to give supply chain professionals and UNI faculty and students an opportunity to join together to share industry best practices and network, while showcasing the talent within the UNI Supply Chain and Operations Management program.

Conference check-in is from 8:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m. and the conference agenda will include approximately three main speakers, a student competition team presentation during lunch, and networking time, concluding by 1:00pm.

This conference is offered free of charge thanks to the support from the John Deere Foundation, the Bradford Chair in International Business, and the Bill Kimball Fund. We thank our generous donors.

Guest speakers include:

• Kent A. MillerGlobal Director, John Deere Enterprise Strategic Quality 

Kent Miller is Global Director, Enterprise Strategic Quality, where his responsibilities include providing leadership and the strategic direction for enterprise quality. This includes developing and executing quality processes and tools globally to ensure John Deere customers have a distinctive customer experience.

Kent joined John Deere in 1998 after spending nine years at Ford Motor Company where he gained valuable North American and European engineering and leadership experience. At John Deere, he has held a number of Divisional and Corporate leadership positions in both quality and supply management. His experiences in supply management included Supply Chain Integration Manager; Manager, Supply Management; and Director, Supply Management for the Global Tractor Platform.

Kent currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board for the University of Northern Iowa Business School, is a member of the External Advisory Board for the ADM Institute on Post Harvest Loss, and a member of the Habitat for Humanity Quad-Cities Board. In 2017, he became the Executive Liaison between John Deere and the University of Illinois.

Kent has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from the University of Illinois. In 2002, he received his M.B.A. from the University of Illinois through the Executive Program.
