In his research, Jobu seeks to understand the role of language in managerial decision-making, how decision-makers interact with AI, and how to use AI to predict behavior. More broadly, he's studied dishonesty, pro-social choice, the impact of norms, and the role of beauty in the labor market.
Jobu is a behavioral scientist interested in experimental design and applied analytics. He's published over 15 peer-reviewed articles at top-tier outlets, including the Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Journal of Education for Business, and Journal of the Economic Science Association, and has presented research at Johns Hopkins Univ, The Wharton School at UPenn, the Berlin School of Economics, and the New York Fed.
Since 2024, Jobu has served as a visiting scholar at University of Chicago, coordinating with the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics and the Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence. He has practical industry experience working with the US Army, St. Jude Children's Medical Center, and ImpactLife, and is the lead scientist at the Behavioral Economics and Organization Research Group (BEORG).
Jobu has taught in higher education since 2016, helping to craft curricula in analytics, economics, and MBA programs, and promoting student-generated research.
