How It Works

Graduate courses in UNIBusiness are scheduled in three modules, each consisting of 11 weeks of class. For the purposes of this program, Modules 1 and 2 are in the Fall and Module 3 is in the Spring. All classes in the three modules meet once per week in the evening. Depending on the course load you are comfortable with, this program can be completed in one or two years.

Students completing the certificate in one year:

Fall: 9 credits Spring: 6 credits
  • MGMT 6250:  Strategic Planning & Organizational Analysis (Module 1)

  • ACCT 6030:  Managerial Accounting (Module 1)

  • MKTG 6170:  Marketing Management (Module 2)

  • MGMT 6260 Strategic Management of Human Resources (Module 3)

  • MGMT 6262 Cross-Functional Operations (Module 3)

Note: Only classes in the same module will be taken at the same time. For example, even though in this plan of study you are enrolled in 3 courses for the Fall, the Module 2 course MKTG 6170 only begins after the Module 1 courses have ended. This keeps your in-class time down to a more manageable one or two nights a week throughout the program.

Students completing the certificate in two years:

Year 1 Fall: 6 credits Year 1 Spring: 3 credits
  • MGMT 6250:  Strategic Planning & Organizational Analysis (Module 1)

  • MKTG 6170:  Marketing Management (Module 2)

  • MGMT 6260 Strategic Management of Human Resources (Module 3)

Year 2 Fall: 3 credits Year 2 Spring: 3 credits
  • ACCT 6030:  Managerial Accounting (Module 1)

  • MGMT 6262 Cross-Functional Operations (Module 3)

Note: Only classes in the same module will be taken at the same time. For example, even though in this plan of study you are enrolled in 2 courses for the Fall, the Module 2 course MKTG 6170 only begins after the Module 1 course has ended. This means you only have in-class time one night a week for the entire certificate.

I am the last dean of this college to have worked for all previous deans. I look forward to celebrating with my colleagues, probably post-vaccine, to recognize where we have been and where we are today.
