Professional Accomplishments

Adam Smedema began teaching at UNI in fall 2011. He teaches corporate finance at both the undergraduate and MBA-levels. He leads a short training seminar in financial modeling for finance majors.

His original research has been published in the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Banking & Finance, and Financial Management. He has presented at the national meetings of the Financial Management Association, the American Accounting Association, and the Southern Finance Association. In 2014, his original research was presented at the prestigious Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association midyear meetings.

In 2012, he received a University Pre-Tenure Summer Fellowship and, in 2014, he receive the Tim Williams Junior Faculty Fellowship. He has served on the program committees for the national meetings of the Financial Management Association and the Eastern Financial Association.
