AMA places 2nd in the state
The University of Northern Iowa's American Marketing Association (AMA) competed in the 4th Annual Tippie Case Competition at the University of Iowa this past weekend. The team of four included marketing majors, Zach Robles, Katelyn Green, Nick Schlumbohn, and Brandi Hosch. This team was given a case only 5 weeks in advance, centered around Alliant Energy's recent plan to enter the electric vehicle market.
With guidance and support from their faculty advisor Kathleen Porter, the AMA team met a number of times to compile a marketing strategy for Alliant Energy in their effort to become more sustainable. The team's hard work and marketing talents paid off as they placed 2nd against 4 other Iowa schools, including the University of Iowa (who was awarded 1st place), Iowa State University, St. Ambrose University, and Luther College.
Along with the group's second place finish, they were recognized as "the most professional team," which they attribute to the lessons learned in the Professional Readiness Program. "We are extremely proud of our efforts and enjoyed the opportunity to represent the UNI College of Business," stated Brandi Hosch. "This was a great closing to another wonderful year for AMA."
