Inaugural Young Women in Leadership Conference aims to inspire new business leaders

UNI Women in Business, a student-run organization at UNIBusiness, will motivate and develop the next generation of women business leaders through its first-ever Young Women in Leadership Conference, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa.
The conference, themed “Be the Leader,” is open to all high schoolers (grades 9-12) and will feature a number of activities and speakers, including a keynote presentation from Jess McDowell; owner of Cedar Falls-based Joywheel Cycling Studio and a UNIBusiness graduate. (See the bottom of press release for full list of speakers and topics)
UNI Women of Business and UNIBusiness are eager to meet these future leaders and provide them with crucial tools to become disruptors in the workforce.
“While in high school, I would have never dreamed I would become a leader on my college campus,” said UNI Women in Business President Allie Noggle. “UNI has pushed me out of my comfort zone and given me the skills, desire and confidence to be a leader. This year our team wants to give back and help other high schoolers find the leader inside themselves. This conference will truly teach young women how to be strong and take charge.”
Registration is $15 and includes a light breakfast, lunch, t-shirt and training. The registration deadline is Feb. 25. Space is limited. More information and a link to register can be found at uniwomeninbusiness.com/conference.
