We had an excellent team representing UNI at the NASBITE International Case Competition in Newport, Rhode Island. Myle Duong (Marketing), Megan Kupferschmid (Business Teaching), and Minhchau Chau (Management) traveled to the east coast in the culmination of all of their hard work throughout the entire year where they took home a second place finish. The case was sponsored by Cleveland Whiskey and involved a marketing strategy for entering the market in Singapore.  The competition was in two phases, a written qualifying round that included 18 undergraduate programs in the United States. The second phase was an oral presentation championship round in which UNI, Missouri Southern State University, and Youngstown State were the three finalists.

Not only did the girls present well, they networked with industry professionals, attended breakout sessions focused towards their career goals, and made a wonderful impression.  All three plan to take the Certified Global Business Professional exam in the fall.  The comments provided to the students by board members, other instructors and attendees were both uplifting and provided guidance. Tom Lix of Cleveland Whiskey who judged the final three presentations spent time discussing with the team what he thought was great and how they could do better in the future.  Everyone realized the team was dedicated and truly put their hearts into the case.

UNIBusiness is proud to have such outstanding students representing the university.
