Poland collaborates with accounting program for international week
In an collaborative effort to expand and celebrate multicultural advancements in finance and accounting, UNIBusiness Accounting Department Head, Mary Christ, was asked to participate in the fourth annual International Week 2016: New Frontiers in Finance and Accounting at the University of Economics in Katowice in Katowice, Poland.
From Oct. 17 through Oct. 21, Christ, along with faculty members from Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Russia, Serbia, the Netherlands, and Ukraine provided a more global perspective on financial and accounting advances to Polish students, faculty and staff. Christ taught a class on "Understanding Costs and Their Implications" to second year accounting and finance students. She also had the opportunity to explore the softer side of Poland that included a concert at the Katowice Concert Hall and a day trip to the residence of the Republic of Poland's President, Andrzej Duda.
"The faculty and staff at the University of Economics in Katowice were extremely warm and welcoming. The facilities are state of the art and the students there were engaged and anxious to interact with international faculty. The location is in a beautiful part of the country and well located for travel in Europe. This was a tremendous opportunity and I encourage UNIBusiness students to consider Katowice as an international experience," said Christ.
We thank the countless donors who help support international travel costs for students and faculty. For more information on Poland and other international opportunities available to UNIBusiness students, visit https://business.uni.edu/undergraduate/global-opportunities
