On March 23rd, thirty UNI Accounting Club members had the opportunity to tour the John Deere Tractor & Cab Assembly in Waterloo. To begin the tour, students were given a brief presentation about the values and culture at John Deere, as well as internship and part-time student opportunities. Representatives from Deere also discussed their career paths, answered questions, and shared insight about their careers. Students also toured their world-class assembly operation, observing the manufacturing process from chassis assembly to a finished tractor. Kortney Saunders, senior Accounting major at UNI and John Deere Part-Time Student employee, shared her thoughts, “I became aware of employment opportunities at Deere through the UNI career fair. John Deere is a great company and their program affords students many growth opportunities in different accounting areas. My education at UNI gave me the foundation to feel comfortable in a business environment and succeed as an employee.”
