UNI MBA announces picks for consulting projects
University of Northern Iowa MBA students will soon work with area organizations as part of the MBA Capstone Experience, a final consulting project required to complete the MBA program.
Each team will complete strategic management projects for the following organizations:
- Western Home Communities located in Cedar Falls, Iowa
- VGM Homelink located in Waterloo, Iowa
- K Industries located in Janesville, Iowa
- Viking Pump located in Cedar Falls, Iowa
The MBA Capstone Experience is how students apply the principles and skills learned from the MBA curriculum to real-world organizations. With guidance from a faculty mentor, each student team is assigned an organization and is expected to develop practical responses to real questions or problems from that particular organization. Projects typically involve strategic analysis that is supported by research to address the issues relating to sales, marketing, feasibility and current operations.
This year's faculty mentors include, Dan Bumblauskas, Atul Mitra, Dan Power and Matthew Bunker. Sarah Rosol is the coordinator of the Capstone Experience and will work to insure that all teams complete the academic requirements associated with the MBA program. Students will make a presentation on their findings to each client, UNI faculty, students and staff at the end of the Spring semester.
Organizations that would benefit from a consulting team to address strategic planning, marketing, operations or feasibility questions are encouraged to contact Dale Cyphert, MBA Director at 319-273-6150 or email@example.com.
