Liz Keehner (Finance ’13) has always been interested in starting things — she calls it the entrepreneurial mindset. And that attitude blended in nicely with her eventual career — working in venture capital firms primarily focused on funding startup technology companies.
Jessica Wise (Marketing ’20) had thought about starting a business throughout her time at college. Her idea: to mix people’s love for eye-popping t-shirts with their love for making a difference. It was just a matter of figuring out the logistics.
Two of the three UNIBusiness teams placed in the top three at the 2018 Stock Pitch Competition on Friday, Oct. 26, at the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Bloch School of Management. The event was hosted by the school and UMKC’s Investment Club.
Dennis Jordan (Marketing ’91) originally planned to work in radio and television when he transferred to the University of Northern Iowa in 1989. But his interest in marketing and the tough nature of the radio and TV industry helped him find his way to UNIBusiness instead.
