Sidney Sorfonden
Assistant Professor of Practice
Sidney Sorfonden was a graduate assistant in the Computer Science and Information Systems department at Northwest Missouri State University while earning her MBA. During this time, she taught a few courses in the department and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This sparked her interest in teaching at UNI after relocating to the Cedar Falls area. She spent a few years working in the business world before becoming an adjunct instructor at UNI, eventually transitioning into a full-time position. In addition to teaching, she serves as the faculty liaison to the new recording studio in the Wilson College of Business.
She aims to bring a positive attitude, an open mind, and high standards to each of her courses. She believes that creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment enables students to reach their full potential. She seeks to motivate and challenge her students to excel.

Sidney and her husband love to be active and busy. When the weather is nice, they enjoy golfing, playing sand volleyball, taking their dogs for walks, and doing anything outside. They love to travel, visit friends and family, and explore new places. Attending and watching sporting events is also something they enjoy.
