Gaylen Miller co-founded Ag Services of America in 1986. In addition to his role as President and CEO, he also served as Chairman of the Board. Ag Services supplied and financed crop inputs and services to farmers in over 30 states. In 1991, the company was listed on the NASDAQ. In 1996, the company transferred to the New York Stock Exchange. Forbes magazine recognized Ag Services four times on its list of the best 200 small companies in America. BusinessWeek recognized the company twice on its list of the top 100 Growth Companies in America. In December of 2003 Ag Services was purchased by Rabobank. Gaylen retired from the company at that time. Currently Gaylen is self-employed with his focus on investments, real estate development, and the restaurant business. Previously Gaylen worked for Cenex-Land O' Lakes in Fort Dodge and DeKalb/Pfizer Genetics in DeKalb, Illinois.
He is a 1996 recipient of Ernst & Young's Iowa/Nebraska Service Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 1998, Gaylen was awarded the Matt Parrot Integrity Award for Agri-Business.
