Skylar Mayberry-Mayes, Ph.D., has a diverse background in business and education, working at various corporations and higher education institutions. Currently, he is a leader at Grand View University, serving as the Executive Director of The Jacobson Institute.
Throughout his career, Skylar has consistently served as a champion for corporate social responsibility and career readiness; through his academic research and many leadership roles supporting Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Councils, Data and Analytics Councils, and College Advisory Boards.
Demonstrating a record of community engagement has led to several recognitions, including ForbesĀ® Under 30, Business RecordĀ® 40 Under 40, Iowa Governor's Volunteer Service Award, Obama - Presidential Volunteer Service Award, Nationwide - Volunteer of the Year, and much more. While serving as a Loaned Executive for United Way of Central Iowa, Dr. Mayberry-Mayes helped to raise a record-breaking $26.6MM. His affiliation with many boards and committees, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Oakridge Neighborhood, Des Moines Public Schools Foundation and several others, is what keeps him engaged.
