Professional Accomplishments:
Stewart began his career as a test engineer in 1991 with John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa. Over 25 years, he moved into increasing responsibilities and leadership positions in Engineering, Operations and Supply Management. Stewart has worked in various divisions of John Deere, including Power Systems, Ag & Turf and Corporate. He recently retired from his position in Enterprise Supply Management & Logistics for Deere & Company in Moline, IL. Stewart pointed his career in a new direction when he started working as the Chief Applied Engineering Administrator at the University of Northern Iowa. His primary responsibilities in this role, beyond giving back to his alma mater, are to assist in standing up the new Department of Applied Engineering, partnering with workforce partners to develop career pathways for our students, and increasing enrollment in UNI's various engineering and technical programs.
