Michelle Rourke Thanks

Thousands send their thanks: A Word from Michelle Rourke, UNIBusiness director of development
Today, tuition and fees for an Iowa resident enrolled in UNIBusiness are more than $8,000 per year ($14,116 with room and board). In 1980, a student had to work just shy of 1,000 hours at minimum wage to earn enough money to pay UNI tuition for one year. One year's tuition in 2010 would require nearly 3,900 hours of work - and that doesn't include the cost of room, board, books or meals. I can only imagine the stress of looking for that first job and facing years of payments on $25,740 of student loan debt, the average for today's UNI graduates.

Fortunately, thanks to your generosity, far fewer undergraduates have to bear that financial burden and are able to land quality jobs through experiences you help fund. Your gifts for scholarships and to the Dean's Fund for Excellence are just two of the many ways you influence the lives - and futures - of today's students.

Your gifts help enhance students' education and provide a professional edge far beyond what tuition can buy. And your input and experience make a difference!

On behalf of the more than 2,000 UNIBusiness students, I offer my sincere appreciation for your generosity.

With thanks,
