The UNIBusiness Accounting degree program will equip you with the skills to collect and analyze data and interpret the impact of information on an organization's decision making, as well as the ability to efficiently communicate with others. Classes like Accounting Information Systems and Income Tax will give you the core knowledge needed to succeed as an accountant.

You'll also prepare for many accounting certifications such as the CPA license and the CMA credential.

Undergraduate


Certified Public Accountants are the most widely recognized and highly trusted professionals in the business world. The benefits that come with being a CPA include increased trust, opportunity and financial reward - some of which are not standard with a general Accounting degree.

UNIBusiness is nationally known as a top institution for CPA professionals due to the professional-level exam preparation that is tied into our curriculum. Our CPA examination pass rate is higher than the national average and many of our graduates pass the CPA exam by the time they graduate.



CPA Track Sample Program

Accounting Degree


Many accounting majors choose to complete the 150 credit hour requirement by pursuing their Masters of Accounting Degree (MAcc). The program is designed to enhance your applied accounting research skills, communication skills, problem-solving capability, and other skills required to be a successful professional accountant or financial leader. Completion of this program will also satisfy Iowa and many other state's 150-hour requirement for CPA certification if you chose to become certified.

Undergraduate


Non-CPA track accounting majors can work in a number of different positions in a variety of companies without CPA certification. As an accountant, you can easily work for big and small businesses, school districts and various non-profit and government organizations. There are many executives, vice presidents and CFO's in Fortune 500 companies who are not CPA's.

Non-CPA Track Sample Program

As a Non-CPA track accounting major, you are required to take a minimum of 57 semester hours in accounting and business, although many students elect to take more than the minimum. Faculty has found that students who take more Accounting courses than required are better prepared for entry-level accounting positions.
