Our first cohort of MBA students in Mason City will graduate May 2019!

Accordion Arrow   The In Town MBA

The UNI MBA program is a program for the business professional, recognized by Princeton Review as a "Best Business School MBA." We seek a diverse mix of students who meet our high admissions standards. MBA faculty members provide a stimulating and challenging classroom environment where students learn from both faculty and peers, a generative blend critical to discovery at the highest levels.

The program includes a unique advantage for Iowa business professionals who want to be face-to-face with their classmates and instructors but don't have an affordable, accredited program in their own backyard. Many years ago, UNI began offering its MBA program in an intensive executive-style format at locations convenient for specific cohorts of students.

Starting in Hong Kong, the faculty formatted their courses to be taught sequentially, each delivered over an 8 to 11 week time period, depending upon the need for pre-requisites. With that highly successful start, it seemed only natural to offer that same advantage to Iowa's vibrant - but scattered - business community.

The town of Pella thus became the next location, with a cohort completing the MBA program from 2012 to 2014. A third location, Shanghai, China, came on line in 2016, expanding the international partnerships that have become a hallmark of the College.

Another cohort will begin classes in Mason City in 2017 with a graduation date of May, 2019.

Accordion Arrow   Course Schedule

Classes are held on Friday evenings and Saturdays. Approximately 33 hours of face-to-face instruction are provided over 3 weekends which are spaced at least 2 weeks apart. An additional 4-hour "start" session plus a 3-4 hour "final" session may also be held on a Saturday.

Students in the Mason City cohort will participate in the Capstone Experience, a unique and highly-acclaimed program that allows students to practice managerial applications of their MBA coursework. These activities include several meetings in both Mason City and Cedar Falls, an extensive consulting project with an organizational client in the local area.
