Below is a partial list of named scholarships available only to UNIBusiness students. Many more are awarded each year from specific UNIBusiness departments and the University. And all students need to do is fill out ONE application: UNIversity Scholarship Application!

ACCOUNTING ADVISORY COUNCIL/BLANFORD SCHOLARSHIP
Category: Current Undergraduates
Description: Open to accounting majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who have completed Intermediate Accounting I. Preference for the student who demonstrates leadership qualities through college activities or past employment.
Amount: $3,000

ACCOUNTING/STEM ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Category: Current Undergraduates
Description: Open to accounting majors who have a second major or minor in a STEM program; awarded for the junior year. Requires ACT score of 29, rank in the top 10% of high school class, have RAI of 335 and UNI GPA of 3.5. Renewable by maintaining a 3.5 GPA.
Amount: $8,000

AEGON TRANSAMERICA ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Category: Current Undergraduates
Description: Open to undergraduate juniors and seniors who are residents of Iowa.  Eligible students must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.  Three awards are given: one to a student athlete majoring in business, one to a business teaching major, and one to another student within UNIBusiness.  One of the three awards must go to a minority student and the scholarship is renewable.

ALLIANT ENERGY

Description: Open to all UNIBusiness undergraduates with a 3.00 GPA or above.  Four awards are given with preference to customers of Alliant Energy, minority students, and juniors and seniors studying economic development.  The scholarship is renewable.

AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION

Description: Open to junior marketing majors with a 2.75 GPA or above.  Eligible recipients must be full-time students with leadership and service qualities.

Description: Open to all UNIBusiness undergraduate juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.00 or above.  Preference is given to members of the American Society for Quality Control.

CBA SCHOLAR AWARD
Category: Incoming Freshmen
Description: Incoming freshmen who intend to pursue a major in one of the degree programs offered by UNIBusiness. Students must have both ACT math and ACT composite of 27 or higher to be considered for this scholarship.
Amount: $500 - $6,500 per year

CHAPTER 63 INSTITUTE OF REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT
Category: Current Undergraduates
Description: At time of award student must have declared Real Estate major or minor. If Finance major - must have completed one real estate course & completed or be in process of completing a co-op/intern/work experience with a real estate professional. Full time student with GPA sufficient to graduate from UNI; never been found in violation of Academic Ethics Policies.

CHARLES T. LEAVITT

Description: This scholarship originated in 1970 from memorials for the late Charles T. Leavitt, professor of economics at UNI for many years. It is awarded each year to an undergraduate student major in the field of economics.

CHRISTOPHER & DAWN HOINS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Description: Open to accounting majors with preference to senior status. Award is based on financial need and merit for a student overcoming substantial hardships. Preference for resident of northeast Iowa who demonstrates strong aptitude in the accounting field through school work and work ethic through off-campus work experiences.

Description: Recipient shall be a declared real estate major or minor; preference for student interested in commercial mortgage lending; preference for student from state of Iowa.

Description: Recipient shall be of junior or senior status, admitted to UNIBusiness, with a major in management: human resources. The recipient must be an active member of the UNI student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. Financial need will be considered.

Description: Must be a Management Information Systems (MIS) major and qualify for financial need with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Must be a female with preference given to a student that is an active member of the Management Information Systems Association (MISA), or the Women in Business Association or a similar student organization.

MAHMOOD ALUMNI

Description: Funded by a gift in memory of Mahmood Yousefi from his wife, Rachelle, it was established in 2001. The award goes annually to an economics major who meets the goals of scholarship, need and attitude consistent with the standards set by Dr. Yousefi. Dr. Mahmood Yousefi was a professor of economics and died of ALS in December 1999.

The scholarship recipient will be a senior student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection will be made by the department of economics faculty based on academic ability and professional goals.

Description: Purpose:  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide incentive for transfer students to enter the college of business administration at UNI and to maintain their academic performance once they receive the scholarship.
Description:  Five $1000.00 renewable scholarships will be awarded to the top five incoming transfer students based on their current GPA reported via the UNI Scholarship Application.  Once in the college of business, these scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 minimum UNI cumulative GPA to renew their scholarship.  These students are required to take the ALEKS test upon admission. 
Criteria:  This is merit based scholarship award.  These scholarships are awarded to the highest GPA from incoming 2-year community colleges.  The Point of Contact for these awards is Chris Lukasiewicz at 3-2956.

UNIBUSINESS TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP

Description: Purpose:  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide incentive for transfer students to enter the college of business administration at UNI and to maintain their academic performance once they receive the scholarship.
Description:  Five $1000.00 renewable scholarships will be awarded to the top five incoming transfer students based on their current GPA reported via the UNI Scholarship Application.  Once in the college of business, these scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 minimum UNI cumulative GPA to renew their scholarship.  These students are required to take the ALEKS test upon admission. 
Criteria:  This is merit based scholarship award.  These scholarships are awarded to the highest GPA from incoming 2-year community colleges.  The Point of Contact for these awards is Chris Lukasiewicz at 3-2956.

Description: Purpose:  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide incentive for transfer students to enter the college of business administration at UNI and to maintain their academic performance once they receive the scholarship.
Description:  Five $1000.00 renewable scholarships will be awarded to the top five incoming transfer students based on their current GPA reported via the UNI Scholarship Application.  Once in the college of business, these scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 minimum UNI cumulative GPA to renew their scholarship.  These students are required to take the ALEKS test upon admission. 
Criteria:  This is merit based scholarship award.  These scholarships are awarded to the highest GPA from incoming 2-year community colleges.  The Point of Contact for these awards is Chris Lukasiewicz at 3-2956.
