Assistant Professor

Andres Cuadros-Meñaca grew up in Santiago de Cali-Colombia, la sucursal del cielo. He was granted a Fulbright Scholarship in 2012 to pursue his PhD in Economics. He earned a doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and returned to Colombia where he was an Assistant Professor for two and half years. Before joining UNI, Andres was a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Arkansas, and in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He also was a Teaching Assistant Professor at Iowa State University. 

Hobbies & Interests
Andres enjoys martial arts. He has a black-belt in Youn Wha Ryu Taekwondo and is a Hung Sing Gwoon Instructor Choy Lee Fut from the Chen Family. Andres also loves riding his bike through the Cedar Valley National Trail and watching the premier league games. He enjoys attending Panther events with his family.

Research Interests

Dr. Cuadros is an applied econometrician who researches in the areas of development economics. Dr. Cuadros most recent research focuses on remittances, human capital accumulation, and food policy. His research has been published in top-tier economic journals including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Word Development, Economics of Education Review, and Economic Development and Cultural Change.
