Financial Skills for Smart Living Exam
Students have the option to take a comprehensive final exam to earn three college credits for FIN 1040 Financial Skills for Smart Living. Qualifications for the exam include:
- Students must be a junior or senior in high school.
- Completion of a personal finance course that used the Financial Skills for Smart Living curriculum by a qualified instructor.
- Completion of form and payment (or waiver) at least one week prior to the scheduled exam date
To sign up for the Financial Skills for Smart Living Exam® exam, please fill out the form below. The form has two sections: contact information and payment details.
- The contact information provided on this form may potentially appear on the student's transcript. Please be sure that the student's proper name and all contact information are accurate before submitting the form. Only student information should be entered; please do not provide parent information.
- Be sure to include both the student's personal email and the school email. The exam will be sent to the school email address, while the personal email address may be required after the student graduates.
- The cost for the exam is $100.00. Payment by credit card is required after entering the contact information. A waiver of payment is available for students of economic need which can be downloaded from the payment page.
- Deadline for payment is one week before the exam date, which will be determined by the student's high school teacher. Refunds are not available for exam payments.
- If eligible, a $100 Visa gift card will be sent to the address provided on this form upon the student's successful payment and passing of the exam. Students who submitted the waiver of payment are not eligible for the gift card. The University of Northern Iowa is not responsible for undeliverable gift cards due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.
